I can’t believe we’re already halfway into May. With that said, anything happening since my last blog post 10 days ago?

Last week, I had Panera Break with my boyfriend like we do on Wednesday nights before my evening class. The next day, I received my score for the music test and I got 1 wrong which is a 98%. One of my classmates got the same problem wrong and got a 99% instead. It’s still an A either way so it doesn’t really bug me. Then on Friday, my boyfriend and I went to a culinary symposium saw a few presentations from making flowers in gelatin to making designs from food to black forest themed cakes. It was a nice event and these people are so talented in their work… Best of all, it’s edible!!! Later on the day, my boyfriend made some authentic tacos and it was delicious. Much, much more delicious than the tacos I had from King Taco earlier that week since it’s legit. Woo! Perks of dating a Hispanic man! (◕‿◕✿) *insert teary laughing face here*. A bit over half of the weekend was spent doing my stats homework I totally procrastinated on over the weeks. It’s totally worth it since it helped me study for the test that way.

Then came this week… On Monday at 4am, I somehow accumulated a stomach flu. I’ll skip over the symptoms I had and just say that it was really bad. I had an exam for Statistics that day and I couldn’t miss it or make it up. My boyfriend was there to help me the whole way though. He picked me up and went off to Starbucks to do some studying before heading off to school. Surprisingly, I feel confident about this exam. I’ll see how that goes when the scores are out. We went to The Habit after the exam to buy my boyfriend one of those delicious veggie charbroiled burgers. Other than that, I skipped out on my other classes since I didn’t feel good enough to attend. I recovered from the whole thing during the early evening so I’m fine now. On the bright side to all of this, I managed to successfully register for a class this summer during my registration that day. I’m going to take Business Law which sounds like… Fun!

As for the result of the Anthropology exam, it turns out that I got 68 points out of 88. That’s around 77% so I did better than I expected… And the average of the class scored in the 40%’s. For Philosophy, it turns out that I got a 61% on the test. I’m a bit shocked of the results since I have no idea how I’m going to pull off a C at the very least… And I can’t drop the class since it’s already too late. Hopefully I will figure something out.

On Thursday, I had a speech to present about persuading people to cut soda out of their diet. I spent my entire free time working on the outlines and presentation that day and it went better than I expected. I even squeezed time to eat at In-N-Out with one of my classmates.

To wrap up this week, I spent my Friday with my boyfriend going to the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, having a delicious meal of Pacific Shrimp & Bay Shrimp Tostada Salad from The Farmer’s Market at The Grove, munching on some cupcakes from Sprinkes Cupcakes, and munched on some Papa John’s pizza while watching Jack Reacher. It was a food-filled day and it was totally worth it.

With that said, there are 2 1/2 weeks + finals left before the semester ends!

Yesterday, I had an afternoon meal with one of my old friends at King Taco. I had my share of the meal with consuming 3 tacos, 1 sope, and some nachos. Did I have fun? Of course I did! Though… We had leftover nachos and my friend wanted to bring them to whoever was in the band room from my high school a few blocks away. I really did not anticipate dropping by the band room at all. It was a bit of a bummer that I didn’t catch the band director but I was warmly greeted by the current band members there.

Even though I graduated almost a year ago, it was weird that I barely recognized what the band room looked like at first sight… It was the place I visited the most out of all my years in high school. Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t forgotten about band and the memories made from it. It’s just somewhere in the back of my head. I blame the heavy demands of the semester but that’s life. I guess it’s better “complaining” about being busy than being bored because at least you’re gaining experience of some sort by being preoccupied.

On Monday, I had an exam for Anthropology and a test for Philosophy… The two hardest classes of the semester. No matter how much I studied, I ended up guessing on most of the questions in Anthropology. As for Philosophy, I feel better about this test than the previous test. Sadly, I still have another exam coming up for Statistics next Monday… Which means I have 3 chapters worth of homework to complete this weekend. Come to think of it, there are only 4 weeks left in the semester. Surprisingly, it seems as if this semester is going by faster than last semester.

Despite of me grumbling so much about the semester, life is good. Aside of all of those “bad” things, you gotta look at the good things in life too… Like me parking my neighbor’s car on to the street after street cleaning this morning. It doesn’t really benefit me directly, but still. It’s a good deed.

Yesterday was May the 3rd and guess what that means! It means Iron Man 3 is finally out in theaters! Did I watch Iron Man 3 yet? Of course I did~ It was an awesome movie and it’s definitely worth the time and money. The story-line was pretty intense in some parts of the movie, but it’s all good. Before I potentially spoil the rest of the movie, go out there and watch it! I enjoyed watching the movie with my boyfriend and we wore matching Iron Man t-shirts! After the movie, we went along and made some delicious sushi with caviar on the side.

Today, my boyfriend and I went to the Los Angeles Zoo because I had to complete an assignment for Anthropology class. The assignment was mostly about observing what the primates are doing or identifying their characteristic traits. We made the best of the assignment and toured most of the zoo. The experience was amazing and this was our first time at the zoo together plus I haven’t been to this zoo in over a decade. With the day being moderately warm, we bought a souvenir ICEE cup and refilled it several times with cherry ICEE. There are countless of exhibits that I liked, but the one that stood out the most was probably the tiger exhibit.

With a great start to my weekend, I suppose I have to balance that out with some studying for the rest of the weekend. I have an Anthropology exam and Philosophy test on Monday. Hopefully, it won’t be too difficult or anything. I would like to have a decent GPA by the end of the semester, ya know? As for the results for my Speech midterm I took last week, I got a 45/50 on the essay portion and 21/25 on the multiple choice. It’s decent enough for me considering how the class didn’t do so hot. There are 4 1/2 weeks left of instruction!

To finish off this blog post, here are some pictures from Instagram relating to Iron Man 3 and the zoo! :D

Since I raved a lot about Iron Man 3 for quite a while, what is next on the agenda? I will figure something out within time… Also, I will return comments sometime this week.

It’s May already?! This means there are 5 weeks left in the semester for instruction plus an additional week for finals :D. Then after that, I could say I am finished with my first year of college!

Anything new since my last blog post? Nothing new happened that was life really changing. Last Friday, my boyfriend and I ate Pho and ice cream at his house. I also got to try out his high school band uniform for the fun of it, though I still prefer wearing my high school band uniform :P.

On my previous blog post, I mentioned something about doing an exam for Statistics. I thought I was going to bomb the exam and score in the 40′s, but it turns out that I scored a 73%. It is considered “high” compared to the class average of 58%. There’s not much I could do now besides score higher on the next exam, optional exam, and final. Speaking of which, I have a music test tomorrow morning about intervals and transposition. I should hopefully ace this if I am awake enough to figure everything out.

Anthropology 101 is keeping me busy this whole week with all of the assignments and studying to do for the next exam due on Monday. I pretty much spread the workload through the days within the week. It looks like I am finished with most of what I planned out beforehand which gives me more time for other things :D.

With May finally being here, Iron Man 3 is coming out on Theaters on Friday!!! Just 2 more days to go (or ~36 hours from the time I publish this blog post). I listened to the entire soundtrack yesterday and the London Philharmonic Orchestra did an outstanding job with the music they produced. It would be nice if I could see them live… Or play with the ensemble.

To finish off some blog posts, here are some Instagram pictures from the past week. Have a wonderful May~

It’s Thursday evening! This means I’m done with school for the week and off to a 3-day weekend! Why am I blogging on a Thursday evening? I wanted to change things up a bit for once, so why not?

I had some difficulty waking up early for school since I was accustomed to sleeping in due to spring break last week. Either way, I should be well adjusted to my sleeping schedule at this point. On Monday, I went to school at 8am so I could have a “preferred” parking spot on the third floor. As soon as I was about to make a turn into the lot, the whole parking complex was barricaded by policemen. There was supposedly a suspicious package found on the parking structure which was a false alarm after 3 hours of investigation. It’s a bit scary with all of these allegations going on daily and this is getting ridiculous. I would go on about how overly exaggerated this whole incident is- but I will spare myself from any debates that might stir up. Ultimately, the school should have evacuated everyone and cancelled classes for the day; but it didn’t happen and I was hoping for that to happen so I can have my Statistics exam I had that day postponed. Speaking of which, I probably bombed the exam considering how I totally blanked out and found out that I made a simple calculating error on a couple of the problems. Despite of all of that, I’m a bit optimistic because I have the opportunity to make up whatever lowest overall exam grade I received by doing well on an optional exam later next month.

Tuesday was a bit of a regular day since I ended my day early and bought ice cream from Baskin-Robbins afterwards. During my music class in the morning, we had to turn in a composition we created over the break so the instructor can play it on the piano. I was a bit lazy over the break and ended up copying a section of a song I made on Note Flight last year. The song sounded too “skrillex-y” (or what you hear in EDM) when the instructor played it. I thought I’d share that random experience. As always, Wednesday was the longest day of the week with 4 classes that takes up ~14 hours with 2-hour breaks in between classes. The highlight of the day was having dinner at Panera Bread with my boyfriend before my economics class. The salads from Panera are delicious! I don’t really have a specific favorite salad since I’m still exploring the options.

Although my music class was cancelled today, I had to go to school early because I had an appointment for academic counseling. I have been putting that off since September and I might as well get it out of the way. It was beneficial since I have an “official” plan on record about what I want to do at school and planned out all of the classes I need. On the bright side, it matches most of the classes I planned to take later on. A few adjustments were made where I could jump to taking Java and C++ instead of a preparation course and algorithms…. Along with an additional math course I need to take which is Calculus. In a way, I knew I couldn’t escape Calculus no matter what computer major I pursue. Oh well. Might as well get it out of the way, right? At least I don’t need to worry about that until Spring of 2014. I believe I’m almost ready for Java and C++. I’m familiar with the mechanics of coding and I have been looking forward into taking C++ since I was 12 or something but I never had the right ambition to learn it on my own.

I had a midterm for Speech today and I winged it due to my lack of interest in actually studying the materials. Hopefully I did well enough for an A. Next week, I have an oral interpretation performance to do with my group and our story is about, “The Emperor’s New Clothes“. I have no doubt that we’ll do good so that’s a plus.

I suppose that’s it for now… Though… I noticed that I have been blogging about some of the stuff that goes on in my life since forever and I would like to thank those who have the time, patience, and interest to follow through the things I post about :D.
